| Students examine and compare a variety of real animal bones. Using caliper, they will measure each bone and create a bar chart to take home. Together they reassemble a human skeleton model. Each student makes a necklace made of "sinew" and real animal bone to take home. |

| Are Bats blind? Can they hear? Enter the world of this unique nocturnal mammal. This hands-on program includes a slide presentation along with discussion of echolocation and the bat's special function in our eco-system. The Science Center's very own "Echolocation Machine" demonstrates how bats locate their food. Students make a "bat" to take home. Wall or screen needed to show slides. |

| Jump into genetics with a fascinating examination of common traits. Working in groups, students take data, make comparisons, and discover how individuals are unique and similar at the same time. Experiments with tongue rolling, taste testing, and many other genetic traits are explored. |

| Did you ever wonder what is healthy to eat and why? Calories, fat and serving size are compared using beverages, cereal, and various other foods as examples. Students examine models of fat and muscle then perform an experiment comparing different types of potato chips. Real human bones are used to the show the students the difference between healthy bone structure and bones with osteoporosis. Older students make and test bone models. |

| How much do your bones reveal about you? Classmates team up as Forensic Specialists in this innovative and challenging program. Using real human bones as props, teams are briefed about their mysterious discovery and challenged to examine the bones for clues. Specific facts about bones are presented and then the teams hypothesize about the person's age, gender and possible demise. |
